Mary Piekos, MD, JFACOG
Mary Piekos, MD, is a board-eligible obstetrician and gynecologist at Midwest Center for Women’s HealthCare, seeing patients in Skokie and Buffalo Grove. She provides comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care, including prenatal care and delivery, well-woman exams, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, including laparoscopic, robotic, and hysteroscopic procedures. Dr. Piekos is accepting new patients, and appointments can be scheduled online or by calling 847-499-2648.
Dr. Piekos believes great care begins with listening. She takes the time to understand each patient’s concerns, goals, and preferences before developing an individualized treatment plan. Through shared decision-making, she empowers patients to feel informed, heard, and confident in their healthcare decisions.
Education and training
Dr. Piekos completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois, where she was selected as clinic chief her final year. She earned her medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport following a preliminary internship in general surgery. She also holds a Master of Science in biotechnology from Rush University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Missouri.
Honors and memberships
During residency, Dr. Piekos was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and was recognized for her clinical excellence, surgical skills, and commitment to teaching. Her honors include the Outstanding Resident in Gynecologic Oncology Award from the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (2025), the Outstanding Minimally Invasive Surgery Resident Award from the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons (2026), and the Award for Excellence in Medical Student Teaching (2026). She is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.
Outside the office, Dr. Piekos enjoys spending time with her busy family and their golden retriever named Finn. She especially loves cooking, painting watercolors and tending to her garden with her kids. She and her husband enjoy traveling with their children, with trips to Hawaii, Disney, and Florida’s 30A among some of her favorite family adventures.
