Melissa Rintz, FNP-C

Melissa Rintz, FNP-C, is a certified family nurse practitioner at Midwest Center for Women’s HealthCare, seeing patients in Elgin and South Elgin beginning September 2026. With over 25 years of healthcare experience, Melissa Rintz has dedicated her career to caring for women across all stages of life, bringing extensive expertise in labor and delivery, maternal-newborn care, and women’s health. Throughout her career, Melissa Rintz has served in clinical leadership roles and educated future nurses as an adjunct professor. She is passionate about providing compassionate, evidence-based care.

Experience

Melissa Rintz has served as a patient care leader in labor and delivery at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin since 2005, leading teams of nurses and surgical techs and co-chairing the unit’s quality committee. She has also cared for high-risk antepartum and newborn patients at Ascension Saint Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, and began her nursing career in emergency and trauma care at Holy Family Hospital in Des Plaines. From 2016 to 2024, Melissa Rintz taught BSN nursing students in classroom, simulation, and clinical settings as an adjunct professor at Chamberlain College of Nursing.

Education and training

Melissa Rintz completed her Family Nurse Practitioner training at Purdue University Global and holds a Master of Science in Nursing Education and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University. Her nurse practitioner clinical training included a women’s health rotation covering well-woman exams, Pap tests, breast and pelvic exams, minor gynecologic procedures, and prenatal assessment, along with rotations in pediatrics and primary care. She is certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Basic Life Support.
 
Outside of practice, Melissa Rintz enjoys traveling, reading, staying active, and spending time with her family.
