Should Women Who Are Pregnant or Breastfeeding Get the Covid-19 Vaccine?
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), theย Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)ย and theย Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine all recommend that pregnant and lactating women be vaccinated for COVID-19 given new evidence of vaccine safety. The rise of the Delta variant across the United States, and the increased risk of severe illness for pregnant individuals make vaccination for this population more urgent than ever. Midwest Center for Womenโs HealthCare follows the recommendations of ACOG as our standard of care. Please note at this time, we are unable to grant medical exemptions to vaccine mandates to OB patients unless there is a medically indicated reason.
