Jeness Barthel, MD, FACOG

Dr. Jeness Barthel, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., is a highly skilled board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist (Ob/Gyn) with extensive experience in both general gynecology and advanced robotic surgery. A graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical School, she completed her residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where she was honored to serve as Chief Administrative Resident.

Certified in DaVinci Robotic Surgery, Dr. Barthel is also a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and an active member of the Illinois State Medical Society.

With a particular focus on infertility, Dr. Barthel brings a unique, personal perspective to the IVF process, as both of her children were conceived through in vitro fertilization. This personal experience fuels her passion for helping individuals and couples navigate their fertility journeys with expert care.

Dr. Barthel also has a deep interest in gynecologic robotic surgery. She began practicing in this field in 2003 and trained under Dr. Arnold Advincula, one of the world’s leading experts in gynecologic robotic surgery. Since completing her residency in 2007, she has performed hundreds of robotic surgeries, primarily focusing on hysterectomy procedures. Looking ahead, Dr. Barthel plans to expand her expertise to address menopausal symptoms, further enhancing the care she provides to her patients.

Dr. Barthel sees patients at her Elgin and South Elgin offices and delivers babies and performs surgery at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin.
