Pelvic Pain
At Midwest Center for Womenโs HealthCare, we have experience in helping our patients determine the cause and best treatment plan for women experiencing pelvic pain. Itโs important to realize that many women experience pelvic pain at some point in their lives and treatment plans are available. As there are many varied conditions and diseases that can be the cause of pelvic pain, for the best outcome, it is important for you to provide important details about your specific symptoms to your doctor:
- Do you feel the pain in your lower abdomen, pelvis or both?
- Is the pain dull or sharp? Mild, moderate or severe?
- Do you feel it constantly or occasionally? When?
- Does it radiate to your lower back, buttocks or thighs?
- Does it occur during urination and/or sexual activity?
Some diseases and conditions that can cause pelvic pain are endometriosis, menstrual cramps, ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, and pelvic inflammatory disease. The more details you can provide to your physician about the pain you are experiencing, the easier it will be to determine a path toward healing.
