Comprehensive prenatal care, genetic testing, and fetal monitoring
At Midwest Center for Womenโs HealthCare, our Board-Certified Obstetricians and healthcare professionals partner closely with their patients to ensure that their pregnancies and birthing experiences are exceptionally healthy and positive.
We offer the latest advancements in prenatal screenings, genetic testing, and fetal monitoring, and maintain active communication with patients during the entire pregnancy and birth.
After the birth, we offer a variety of services designed around the personal needs of our post-partum patients.

Prenatal Testing
At Midwest Center for Womenโs HealthCare, we offer the latest testing procedures to screen the health of your unborn baby. Tests are based on the motherโs maternal age, the babyโs gestational development, hereditary considerations and specific risk factors related to a woman’s pregnancy.
From traditional and 3D/4D prenatal ultrasounds to first trimester Down syndrome screening tests, your OB-GYN or Certified Nurse-Midwife will be able to determine which type of approach is right for you and your baby.
First Trimester Prenatal Screening
Midwest Center for Women’s HealthCare offers first trimester screening – a combination of tests completed between weeks 11 and 14 of pregnancy. It is used to look for certain birth defects related to the babyโs heart or chromosomal disorders, such as Down syndrome. This screen includes a maternal blood test and an ultrasound.

Certified Nurse Midwives: Caring For You and Your Baby During Pregnancy and Delivery
At Midwest Center for Womenโs HealthCare, we offer the choice to have a Certified Nurse-Midwife (C.N.M.) care for you during your pregnancy and delivery.
- The primary focus of a Certified Nurse-Midwife is to support, educate and nurture a woman through the course of her pregnancy and childbirth, utilizing any interventions needed to safely deliver a healthy baby. A Certified Nurse-Midwife can also provide gynecological services from adolescence through menopause, including complete physicals, annual exams, screening tests, and blood tests.
- Certified Nurse-Midwives see patients monthly and weekly during pregnancy and provide support and care during labor and delivery of the baby. Certified Nurse-Midwifes are available 24/7 for their own patients and are recommended for single-birth, low-risk pregnancies.
- Our Certified Nurse-Midwifes are licensed Advanced Practice Nurses (A.P.N.) with graduate-level education in nursing, midwifery, obstetrics and gynecology. They offer flexible, individualized care during pregnancy, labor and birth, as well as provide well-woman gynecological care โ and as A.P.N.s, they are licensed to prescribe medication. If a nurse midwifery patient should develop complications during labor, or requires medical intervention such as the use of forceps or a Cesarean section, the collaborating Midwest Center for Womenโs HealthCare obstetrician will be available to assist in the delivery.
- Certified Nurse Midwives are in practice at several of our care centers.
